The Role

We are looking for extraordinary developers who love to hack and build game-changing systems.  As a software engineer at Ark, you will specialize in developing search engine infrastructure and applications that focus on scalability, speed and accuracy.  You must be capable of finding creative solutions to optimize and improve Ark’s search functions and be excited about the opportunity to contribute to new products that are built on top of the search platform.    

Requirements:

• Enjoy working on big data problems
• Be able to work with parallel systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Rackspace, Apache etc.) and noSQL databases (couch, hadoop, Hbase, socket.io, etc.)
• Ability to quickly learn and apply Python, Javascript, Node.js, Lucene, and/or Elastic Search
• Previous experience with search infrastructure a plus
• Be a team player and have a quiet confidence in your abilities
• Must be able to show a portfolio of products you have launched, GitHub, or a repository of code you have written
